Psychotic Disorder are a group of mental health conditions characterized by disruptions in an individual’s thinking, perception, and emotional responses. Many individuals with psychotic symptoms can display either delusions (false beliefs), paranoia or hallucinations (seeing, hearing or sensing things that aren’t real). These symptoms can make it challenging to distinguish reality from imagination and it can affect daily functioning.
An individual can also exhibit positive symptoms (disorganized thoughts, hallucination, delusions, agitation) or negative symptoms (anhedonia, social isolation, lack of motivation or diminished drive)
Living with psychotic disorders can be managed with a combination of therapy, medication and supportive care with regular communication with your healthcare provider.
